The W. Johnson Lumber Company was one of the early customers of the DDRR. When Mr. Johnson approached the Railroad to extend rail services to his Sawmill, we were happy to do so. The Lumber Branch was added and includes a long Incline Track with a distinctive Cut Stone retaining wall. The Sawmill’s operations have expanded over the years and they are now one of the DDRR’s major traffic producers, usually receiving several carloads of wrapped lumber every day.
